Anna Wintour's TIPS FOR THE TOP!

26 October 2010

Well, Anna Wintour may not be our first port of call for cookery tips, or how to sound breezy and natural in TV interviews, but for career advice, we’d certainly give her a chance. What she doesn’t know about climbing the slippery ladder of the fashion industry we can’t be bothered to hear.  SO we were a teeny bit jeals (not that we hate a present job – you understand, ed?) to hear that there is something called The University of Teen Vogue (it’s not a joke, it’s an annual conference in New York for budding fashion industry followers) and we weren't invited. Miss Wintour gave away the following info on her career at the top of the fashion tree at the most recent event

SOMEONE once had the temerity to FIRE Anna Wintour (!) "I worked for American Harper's Bazaar . . . they fired me. I recommend that you all get fired, it's a great learning experience."

When she shot basketball player Lebron James with Giselle Bunchen "It got me in a lot of trouble. Uh, that was an interesting experience." (People protested that they cover had racist undertones and the issue sold poorly)

AND, in a surprisingly beautiful, magical turn, gives away one of Andre Leon Talley’s secrets: "[He] used to write me colour-coded letters. If they were blue, he was depressed. If they were gold, I was golden"
