GAP scraps new logo after a week!

Talk about a fashion u-turn! Preppy heaven GAP has decided to drop its new modern white logo and revert to its original navy roots after a fan outcry culminated in a mighty big facebook campaign that found its way into the press.
Gap North America president Marka Hansen released a statement late last night saying, "We've heard loud and clear that you don't like the new logo. We've learned a lot from the feedback. We only want what's best for the brand and our customers." The new logo, which only lasted a week, was seen just on the internet as the plans were to start rolling out the new look in stores and on packaging in the next month. Fans reacted quickly and seemed relieved they have won the branding battle. One responded: "Thanks for listening. The blue box logo is truly classic. We love it as it is."

GAP has been coming up with some fashion forward brilliance of late: the incredible Pierre Hardy peep-toe wedge shoes dropped in store this week and we're quite excited about the upcoming collaboration with Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli for holiday season partywear. So it seems while the fashion crowd are more than happy with the cool designer pieces, hardcore Gappers thought a new logo was a face-lift too far!
