At Paris Fashion Week the FROWs are always so star-studded, that we must admit we were often distracted from the catwalk, as we studied Janet Jackson send a discreet text message. But we weren’t just staring at the A-list (although we have to say that Kate Moss looked amazing as she walked past us at Dior), we were also scoping out the new FROWers, who we thought needed special mentions.
First up is Micky Green, an Australian pop singer, who lives lives in Paris. She has been a frequenter of catwalk shows for a couple of seasons, but she seems to have upped her style game. Her hair is now white blonde, which makes her instantly stand out in the sea of fashion brunettes, the tux suit she wore to Jean Charles de Castelbajac was a stroke of genius. And at the Chloe show, posing next to Alexa Chung almost always ends in chunky disaster for anyone, but Micky towers over her and looks effortlessly cool, but it was her over sized mohair jumper and tortoiseshell sunnies that she wore to Sonia Rykiel that confirmed her as a newbie with staying power to us!
And next to Micky at Sonia Rykiel was the super-cute Beatrice Martin. The tattoo-sleeved Billie Piper-esque Canadian singer-songwriter, whose cherub face lit up at the Chanel, Jean Charles de Castelbajac and Sonia Rykiel shows.
Astrid Berges-Frisbey has been on our radar since she was cast as Johnny Depp’s mermaid love interest in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Clearly Karl Lagerfeld has been following her progress too, as she was front row at Chanel in biker boots, a black mini and a navy jacket. Her hair looked like she just got out of bed, her make-up was minimal, and she still looked gorgeous – that’ll be that French ‘Je ne sais pas’. Damn them.
Finally, special mention must go to Russian model, Anna Sherbinina, who we watched with amazement (and a little bit of an embarrassed knot in our stomachs) as she threw so many poses for the paps at John Paul Gaultier, we were worried she was going to throw a hip out. She didn’t.
