FROW Best Dressed: PFW ends with a beautiful bang!

07 October 2010

Bye bye Fashion Weeks >sniff sniff< Au voir FROW-watching >wipes tear from eye< Yes, yesterday saw the end of the month we like to call Fashion, but don’t fret, dear! We have one more corker of a Best Dressed line-up to see it off in style. Thanks to the extravaganzas at Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu, we saw FROW-worthy outfits a-plenty. So let’s tuck in!

Remember this time last year when Rihanna was stealing the show(s) during Paris Fashion Week? We loved watching her hop from Balmain to Dior to Gareth Pugh in an array of fierce ensembles so Grazia Daily has been a tad disappointed to see so many Rihanna-less FROWs this time round. Until last night! Yes, Ri-Ri’s red mop made a special outing for the final day of PFW and let us say, huzzah! Looking more feminine than usual at the Miu Miu show, the songstress played up to her Barbadian roots with this kooky flower print dress with a daring neckline, cutified by ruby heels and blue socks. Good to have you back, ol’ gal!

More “omg! she’s here!?” moments came courtesy of Mia Wasikowska and Dakota Fanning. The pixie-like actresses joined in the fun at Miuccia Prada’s show and don’t they look adorable? Our eyes are particularly popping at the sight of Dakota’s Pepto-Bismol pink leather frock from the designer’s A/W ‘10 collection, which she dressed down with a simple cardie and brown shoes. Clearly Cherie Currie’s feisty-but-sweet style has rubbed off on the young starlet...

As for the usual suspects, Alexa Chung went for, er, milkmaid chic in this pale blue check dress with a white collar and cuffs for added interest. Those studded Valentino flats are the only accessory required for a modern touch. Speaking of which, LOOK at Caroline Sieber! Well where did those mile-long legs come from, missy? We love how the super stylist has played down the sexiness on the lower half with a sophisticated jacket on the upper half, buttoned-up and high-necked to keep it tame.

And the girliness seen at Miu Miu was kick-started on Louis Vuitton’s FROW earlier that day. Once again, it was Alexa Chung leading the way, nailing Marc Jacobs’ championing of the Mad Men vibe with her twirly floral frock from the Resort collection, which she wore under a cosy grey jumper and yet another schoolgirl-esque collar. She allowed her skirt to steal the limelight by keeping the accessories to a minimum, carrying her brown Louis Vuitton Sofia Coppola bag and looking super-comfy in black flats. Daisy Lowe was the perfect compliment to her fellow Brit in a similar flirty get-up. But as the face of the luxury brand’s swimwear, she braved the cold and flashed more flesh thanks to a stripy T-shirt teamed with a pink flared skirt, beautifully embellished with floral appliqués and polished off with dainty heels.

And finishing off the fashwan marathon, it's Caroline Sieber and Leigh Lezark. Nice work, girls!
