Grazia Daily reviews Britain’s Next Top Model: THE FINAL!

05 October 2010

You can start to coax the boyfriend back from behind the sofa because, ladies and gentlemen, BNTM is all over. Last night, in a flurry of ticker tape, Tiffany Pisani was crowned Britain’s Next Top Model champion, beating fellow finalists Alisha and Joy, not to mention the other eleven finalists and the thousands of girls who had applied to the series as well. Yay for Tiffany!

The girls go Gaga

Grazia Daily was one of the lucky few in the audience last night for the showdown and though we didn’t manage to live blog the proceedings as promised (>sheepish face<) we did tweet throughout the proceedings like there was no tomorrow.
In between the segments, whilst the rest of Britain was making tea, host Dave Berry made way for some pseudo-celebrity action in the BNTM studio, as Joy’s granddad and Elle’s twelve year old son Flynn literally TORE UP the catwalk in the ad breaks. Amaze.

Elle was charm itself during and after the show, when she told the audience how great we had been (check out our exclusive video above) and believe us, we WERE great. Surprisingly, Julien Macdonald, a man who’s default mode is usually set to ‘vengeful’ was also on top form yesterday. Perhaps letting his hair go curly has softened him up a bit? Whatever it was, we liked his bonkers enthusiasm much more than we like his particular take on Simon Cowell. More of that for season seven please Julien.

Tiff gets a congratulatory kiss from her boyfriend

The general feeling in the audience seemed to be that Tiff was a very deserving winner, being the most professional and versatile of the three finalists. She certainly looked stunning last night in a floor length lemon chiffon gown by Tarvydas, and Grazia Daily managed to grab a pic of the Maltese beauty as she received a peck on the cheek from her adoring boyfriend. Awww!

Charlotte and the rest of the contestants in the audience

There was, however, definitely a feeling that had Charlotte made it through to the final she would have walked it; the cheers reserved for her were waaaaay bigger than for any of the other girls and a LOT of the people we spoke to declared that she had been their favourite. Still, we have a sneaking suspicion that Charlotte's going to be on radar for quite a while yet. Watch this space.

At the swanky afterparty, we grabbed five minutes with the winner herself while she got pampered at the Revlon nailbar. She was still shaking with excitement and was clearly overjoyed to be joining a long line of some of the world's most glamorous women, such as Audrey Hepburn, Cindy Crawford, Halle Berry, Elle Macpherson and Jessica Alba as the face of the Revlon A/W '10 campaign. And just as we about to head home, we spotted Una and Mollie of The Saturdays having Revlon's Plum Night shade applied while Alisha queued up for a mani with her family in tow...

So that’s it! For all of you who’ve faithfully watched Season six of Britain’s Next Top Model along with Grazia Daily (and yes, we mean you RedHeadFashion, littlemunchkin and JustyJ), thank you for tuning in and switching on to share your opinions with us. Until next season (which is presumably starting in about a fortnight), goodbye!
