When Eva Mendes stepped out onto the red carpet for 'The Other Guy's premiere in Leicester Square last night, her demure Prada green silk faille dress with embroidered beading, was primly hiding what has become her trademark - that gorgeous hour glass figure. Eva's banging bod has so far landed her megabucks modelling contracts with Calvin Klein, to front the superbrand's jeans, lingerie and Obsession fragrances.
So it's no surprise that Mendes is amused to hear the fashion press declaring the "return of the hourglass" for Autumn Winter 2010; 'Well it's not news to me!' said the actress to Grazia Daily 'I've been making a living for years because I have an hourglass figure and curves! I don't think the trend has ever been away but it's great to see natural assets celebrated.'
We also wondered, with all those curvy lingerie models now making the leap from calendars to catwalks, would she ever consider modelling in a designer's fashion show if approached? 'No, I would never go near a catwalk unless it was for charity!' she told us, seemingly horrified 'there's no way I think the two worlds [acting and catwalking] should cross over; I do what I do as an actress but I don't think I would know how to walk - it's a skill. Let models get on with what they do well.'
Fair enough. Bet she's hanging on to those lucrative ad campaigns though.....
