Today’s edition of Best Dressed comes to you from the brimming FROWs of New York Fashion Week where those stylish types continue to kick up a storm. None more so than our very own Alexa Chung who cracked out an array of outfits for her frockling between fashion shows. All we can say is you BETTER be coming to LFW, Chung! (please)
First up, we saw Alexa at the Marc Jacobs show sporting a cute-as-a-daisy shift dress, school girl headband, sweet silver heels and a statement handbag, which was given the Alexa-touch with a dainty bow. Well, isn’t it lovely seeing La Chung looking so girlie?
And the goodness kept on coming because for her next appearance, Alexa deemed it fit to wear not one, but two killer outfits for the Mulberry show (well, they did name a bag after her so fair play). She took her VIP spot alongside fellow Brit, Florence Welch, and continued the feminine vibe in this lady-like polka dot frock from Dolce & Gabbana accessorised with that gorgeous Mulberry Lily bag slung across her shoulder. But before you can say 'style chameleon', Alexa made like the models by doing a quick change and slipping into her trademark tomboy style for a night on the tiles. What a hat trick, eh?
Grazia Daily was mightily chuffed to see yet another of our homegrown talents joining Alexa on the FROW, this time in the beautiful form of Gemma Arterton. And we’re tres happy to see the actress keeping things fresh-faced and fuss-free after her minimalist turn for the premiere of 'Tamara Drewe' last week. Yes, the girl is doing us proud.
Olivia Palermo was also there drooling over the delights served up by the British brand and we're awarding full marks for her vibrant frock of draped chiffon, topped off with that iconic Mulbs satchel, which perfectly matches her chestnut locks. Hang on a minute, something looks different... Oh yesss, Olivia’s had the chop! WOW. Goodbye hair extensions, hello sophisticated lady.
And Olivia’s clearly keen to show off her new ‘do, hopping from Tibi to Monique L'huillier with time for a swift change in between. Seriously, Grazia Daily is starting to wonder whether there’s a NYFW changing room we’re not aware of?
Another mega-fashionista stealing the spotlight is the ever-stylish Sarah Jessica Parker. Oh, how we love her. She had a prime position alongside the inimitable Ms Wintour at Narciso Rodriguez yesterday and quite frankly, we can only imagine what Anna must’ve made of THAT outfit. There's no use hiding now, dear...
Lucky for us, there was no end to Hollywood glam yesterday as Liv Tyler graced the G-star RAW FROW next to Kelly Osbourne and Kelly Rowland. And after seeing this trio, we can only assume there were strict instructions for all guests to wear as much blue as possible. And despite Liv’s double denim + braces combo (farmer girl chic, you understand), we reckon Kelly O wins this one, mainly because she’s found shoes that perfectly match the invite. Impressive, no?
Finally, we cast our eye on Solange Knowles who has been doing her utmost to impress the fash pack with a bevvy of sartorial treats and that super-duper afro. Yes, Beyonce’s li'l sis has proved herself to be quite the funky fashionista, and the latest outfit she pulled out for the Luca Luca show really has us beguiled, mainly because it’s reminding us of one of those magic eye pictures. Sheer brilliance, don't you think?
