Ahoy there, all uber cool children (and dare we say nifty petite adults too?). Just to let you know that Stella McCartney is launching her very own kids fashion line! Whoop! Her collaboration with GAP last year was reDONKulously successful with queues of yummy mummies around the block and record sell out rates in GAP stores.
As the designer herself puts it: 'As a brand with many working parents in the team, I wanted to create a desirable, fun, wearable kids collection that was affordable. [I feel that] kids and parents, aunts, uncles, friends, should all be able to have access to Stella McCartney Kids clothes. We have tried to make that possible in this first collection, and hope it is enjoyed!'
The first sneaky peek at the graphics for the new range is very promising indeed, and when Stella says the clothes will be affordable, she actually means affordable to mere mortals, not just mini-millionaires, with prices starting at about £16 for a T-shirt up to £125 for a coat. Hints are that floral print dresses will be order of the day for girls, with a quilted field jacket for boys, and stylish-at-any-age wool and cashmere blend pea coat and natural rubber rain boots in a jaunty shade of yellow for young ladies and gentlemen.
The range will have pieces from ages 0 to 12, and will be available to everyone on new website stellamccartneykids.com as well as in selected Stella McCartney stores worldwide from November 3rd. Just in time for that arduous Christmas shopping challenge; how perfect!
