As festival season draws to a close you can rely on Bestival to go out with a bang. Not only is this year’s line up amazing (Thursday night kicked off with the awesomely Afro-quiffed Janelle Monae and we’ve got mash up masters Dizzee Rascal and The Prodigy to come), the ferry ride to the Isle of Wight instantly makes you feel like you’re off on your hols.
Then there’s the fancy dress. This year’s theme is ‘Fantasy’ and I can’t wait to get into the outfit that official festival costumiers Prangsta (www.prangsta.co.uk) have styled up for me. Specialising in what’s best described as a kind of ‘carnival couture’, Prangsta dusted Daisy Lowe’s 21st birthday celebrations with their decadence and count Florence Welch, Natalie Portman and The White Stripes as clients. Needless to say the on site pop-up dressing room is bustling already and I’ll be popping back shortly to be laced into my punked up wicked queen number.
So, things are looking pretty good for this weekend. The outfit’s sorted, the rain looks like it’s going to hold off and rather than camp I’ve cheated and bagged a room at Norcott Manor. Back with a full report on Monday!
