Fashion Fix: Ladylike Chic

10 September 2010

In a season when practically anything goes, it’s not surprising to see many A-listers choosing to embrace their feminine side. Designers including Louis Vuitton and Prada heralded the return of the curvy silhouette, making clothes that accentuate a woman’s curves, instead of clothes that real women struggle to get into! Wasp waists and circle midi-length skirts are the order of the day and have replaced the waif-like, leather-clad army that we saw so often.

Brit model Laura Bailey is known for her retro style that sees her often stepping out in vintage floral tea dresses and must-have red lipstick - and this week, she was spotted working one of our favourite A/W '10 trends: ladylike chic. With her combo of a calf length dress with nipped in waist, dainty bag and 50’s platform shoes, we just can't get enough of this look! Plus, the dusky pink and cream studded Miu Miu bag together with her nonchalantly tied back hair give this outfit a modern twist (bearing in mind many of the catwalk looks were in dark muted tones of brown, fern green and burgundy) and keep her looking youthful. Check out how you too can get this look with our 6 top buys below…
