Date alert! Lanvin at H&M to launch in November!

02 September 2010

Lanvin plus H&M equals much cheering and rejoicing but also – a slight feeling of trepidation. We all know what happens on the launch day of H&M’s designer collaborations – we saw it with Comme de Garcons, more recently with Sonia Rykiel . . . some shoppers won’t let ANYTHING stand in between them and their bargain big-name buy. Getting up early and wearing your most comfortable boots will both be a must in order to survive the potential crowd and queue issues. Because of course, if you leave it much later you're in danger of losing out as the best bits sell out faster than you can say 'ruffled evening wear'.

First out there’ll be with an internet unveiling on November 2nd – remember the be-brassiered lovelies cycling in a giant pyramid formation round Paris for Sonia Rykiel’s lingerie launch? Yes? So imagine what the company will come up with for the grand occasion of Lanvin’s debut? Some kind of penguin-related acrobatics display? (Surely there's a very rich variety of possiblities there).

So consider this an advance warning. The collaboration between the High St giant and Lanvin’s finest, Alber Elbaz and his menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver will go on sale to the public in stores worldwide on 23rd November,  it'll be just in time to pick up the perfect Christmas party frock! Sharpened elbows at the ready ladies!
