The 2010 Emmy Awards was a wonderful night for telly, but was it a slightly lukewarm one for fashion?
One lady who did impress us was blast-from-the-past Brit actress Julia Ormond (who? She is actually British, and won an Emmy for being the Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for her role in Temple Grandin) who wore Escada and looked better than just about any of the A-listers. Kelly Osborne seems to have permanently abandoned her 'hair of many colours' approach in favour of full on
Frumpy Peggy from Mad Men (also known as Elisabeth Moss) looked super-sexy and glam in her stone coloured bandage dress by Donna Karan and frondsy ‘do.
Anna Paquin wore not one, but two Alexander McQueen dresses. This fearsome armoured shouldered piece was from the resort collection by Sarah Burton. Then this sleeker (and more practical on the dancefloor) black wool number from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2010 collection, which she even paired with a dinky clutch from McQueen! Bravo Anna!
Christina Hendricks may be the girl of the moment, but that doesn’t mean we are letting her get away with THIS matronly Zac Posen nightmare of a gown...
Yikes! Heidi Klum went shorter than short in her Marchesa dress! We approve, although not as much as we WANT her scary looking shoes!
January Jones might just be our favourite look of the night. Scaly and iridescent it might be, but this Atelier Versace number looks fantastic! (we hear January doesn't even use a stylist, either – she’s got the killer instinct herself!)
Bones star Emily Deschanel looked stunning in this one-strapped, tiered purple dress by Max Azria Atelier (and we do love an understated up-do with a fringe for eveningwear).
We didn’t love Dianna Agron from Glee's Carolina Herrera lace number. Yikes! It brought back terrible flashbacks of ‘80’s bridesmaids!
Claire Danes' crystal encrusted Armani Prive dress looked like it might have weighed a ton – but she looked fab AND took home an award, so maybe she was walking on air, therefore it didn't matter anyway.
30 Rock's Jane Krakowski looked STUNNING in her asymmetrical custom-made Escada gown. We like! Ole! (we imagine) Lea Michele of Glee fame was shouting while posing in THIS flouncy Oscar de la Renta number!
Awww, newly-weds Emily Blunt (in lovely, girlie Christian Dior) and John Krasinski (of the
And finally, a bit of a style change for Kim Kardashian, who looked seriously sophisticated (i.e. actually covered up) in this white Marchesa goddess gown and Lorraine Schwartz diamond cuff.
But what do you think?

Oh, and the ceremony's opening number, starring co-hosts Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon was hilarious.. Enjoy!
