As you probably already know, our First Lady Samantha Cameron gave birth to a baby girl yesterday, two weeks earlier than expected, while still staycationing in Cornwall with the rest of the Cameron clan. The prime minister proudly told the BBC; 'she is an unbelievably beautiful girl and I’m a very proud dad”.
Of course, there has already been much speculation as to what the prime minister and his missus might call their new daughter.
Betting shops Ladbrokes and Paddy Power have already drawn up lists of possible names, from the eternally classic Elizabeth, to the seriously cool, and very Hitchcocky, Marnie ('Beyonce' is an outside shot at just 150/1 - boo).
But Grazia Daily has given this considerable thought and we have decided to put some serious cash on a different name.
We've realised that the last time Smythson's Creative Consultant christened a daughter, she decided that, instead of merely coming up with a fashionable name, she would make the name fashionable by using it for the accessory of the moment - her eldest daughter, now six, is called Nancy; the name with which SamCam christened Smythsons very first It Bag in 2007.
Smythson has recently launched a new bag style with a new name... so we feel confident placing a bet on it. And what is the Bond Street stationers new bag called? The Daphne.
We think Daphne Cameron has a delightful ring to it. And should the prime minister and his wife feel compelled to add Grazia (it's Italian for 'grace' darlings) as a second name, well, we certainly won't sue.
Congratulations, to all the First family, but especially little Daphne Grazia Cameron.
The Camerons' new little bundle of joy
