Flame-haired, clumpy of shoe and (faintly) Welsh of accent, the amazing Grace Coddington reached her sixth decade before becoming famous as the yin to Anna Wintour’s frosty yang in The September Issue. Now, two years on she is being frantically pursued by publishers desperate for her to write her memoirs and cash in on the success of the fash-umentary. She is already the author of cult-fave book Catwalk Cats and the star of a coffee table book, Grace: Thirty Years of Fashion at "Vogue" before she was the star of a film... this would be her biggest literary effort so far.

These days famous folk are expected to knock out a few volumes before they even finish their twenties, but Grace has built up an amazing lifetime of experience in the fashion world before putting pen to paper. After growing up in Wales, she modelled in the heyday of Swinging Sixties London, before a devastating car accident changed her career path. It could have been all over, but Coddington stuck with her love of fashion, stepping behind the camera to dress other models, and her resulting ascendancy through fashion’s ranks as a fashion editor at British Vogue and, later, its American counterpart means that she is now one of the most important, as well as much-loved, figures in the industry.  She must know enough fashion anecdotes to fill several books. As Coddington herself said to WWD, “I’m hoping it’s going to be very rich in fashion history. It’s more than just about me.” Oooh, readers! Who else could she possible be referring to? We can't imagine!

Oh hurry up Grace and co-writer Jay Fielden! We want to read that book!
