Laura and Kate Mulleavy the Rodarte sisters have made no secret of their addiction to movies, and horror films in particular. Apparently they once spent a YEAR watching films – as many as four a day, and have cited movies as inspiration for many of their collections. SO we imagine that it didn’t take them long to decide whether or not to accept the commission for this project – a Darren Aronofsky directed psychological thriller – with promised supernatural effects. Black Swan is set in the world of New York City Ballet, with Natalie Portman starring as the Prima Ballerina with Mila Kunis as her dopplegangerish rival and the brooding Vincent Cassel as the her manipulative dance master. Ballet, creepyness and the Mulleavy sisters? A match made in heaven, no?
