Grazia's At Vintage Goodwood - All Weekend!

13 August 2010

50s tea dresses, correspondent shoes, Morris Minors and we haven't stepped back in time, we're at the UK's newest festival - Vintage Goodwood. On day one we can already say forget the Barbours and micro-minis at Glastonbury, this is the most stylish festival by far. No wellies and indie frocks at Goodwood (despite the downpours), nope here it's all about bright coloured dresses, enviable vintage finds and perfect hair and make-up.

While we are looking forward to watching The Buzzcocks, the Faces and Wanda Jackson later this evening, Vintage Goodwood is all about, well, the vintage. In the Marketplace you could pick up a bag shaped like a phone, as much jewellery as you can carry and a skirt made out of bananas...

But it's not just about old vintage, there is a whole area on the High Street dedicated to future vintage - or a mix of future vintage and things Goodwood believe have a limited live span. Piles of Yellow Pages telephone books (sob), Big Brother (good riddance), books (what the...?) and even newspapers. So the lesson from day one is - hold on to everything you own, you never know how much it will fetch in the future!
