Only the other day we were having a discussion in the Grazia Daily offices about Agyness Deyn, and the discussion went something like this.. 'remember in 2007 when Aggy was THE hot girl of the moment and modelling for Burberry and Dolce and Armani and well, EVERYONE, and we were obssessed with her style and she shook everything up and made fashion fun again... And then suddenly, it was all over. She moved to New York and stopped modelling to concentrate on acting and yes, she's got that new website (and a pop-up pub) but seriously, why oh why did she throw it all in just as she was at her peak?'

Well, this morning we can report that Aggy is back. Back in the pages of a fashion shoot for top glossy V magazine, to be precise. And she's looking...well, very Aggy. By which we mean, she's rocking hard-to-get-your-head-around retro jeans - high-waisted AND stone-washed, with a fishnet sweatshirt and visible bra top. But she's also looking amazingly sophisticated in grungey maxi dresses and combat boots (nobody rocks a combat boot like Aggy). It's all a little Marc Jacobs does Perry Ellis '93.

A close-up shot of her face framed by her baby-soft shorn hair (we're getting used to it now - maybe Emma Watson's pixie crop has helped put it in context), piercing eyes, goth nails and spikey rings, with a maverick stripe of white tribal face paint remind us of the striking photogenic beauty that made her name in the first place.

Fashion might be hurtling towards a more womanly, tailored minimalism for Autumn, but it seems there's still a place for the punky prettiness of Ms Deyn. Welcome back, we missed you! [dailyfrontrow]
