The Weekend’s Best Dressed: girls after our own Hart...

02 August 2010

No rest for the wicked as that busy bee Jessica Biel is still doing ‘The A-Team’ promo rounds. For the Berlin Photocall, she looked sleek and sharp in a crisp 3.1 Phillip Lim suit, which she paired with a classic striped tee from Vince. How summery that mellow yellow is! One question: call us nit-pickers but isn’t this a tad too casual [read boring] in comparison to the exceptionally glam trail she blazed last week? Seriously, is she heading for the red carpet or an 80s power lunch? Thank heavens, then, for those gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti for Vionnet heels with the black toe cap to add a touch of femininity.

Speaking of the 80s, Paloma Faith is up to her usual tricks with another state-making corker of an outfit. Her snazzy red gown is a real leg-lengthener thanks to the high waist and flattering pattern made of intricate beading. Plus all that red-on-red helps, not to mention the fabulous oversized-petal-esque hat to add a good few inches too. And didn’t we tell you scarlet is the colour du jour? Yes, we believe we did.

In a shock turn of events, Katy Perry left the rainbow-coloured rubber and iced bun bras at home for the MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia this weekend. Boo! But don’t worry dear, K.Pez didn’t let us down. In fact, she kept her wild side alive with this sassy leopard print Pencey frock teamed with spiked gold Louboutins. Cute! Also bringing a fresh take to the animal trend with a welcome splash of electric blue, we have Fearne Cotton prowling around the London streets in this super-covetable tiger print dress from ALICE by Temperley. Hmm, are those clashing leopard print booties a step too far?

Whizzing over to the Hamptons for the Super Saturday 13, we have the hottest gal on the block and Grazia’s on-going style crush, Jessica Hart. After tweeting her excitement at shopping for a good cause (the event benefits ovarian cancer research), the mega model arrived in her usual flurry of grungey-meets-girlie chic, also courtesy of Pencey, but with a country and western twist – although we didn’t know they had shredders in the Wild West... But oh, how adorable is that puppy-come-accessory of hers? All together now, awwww! Rachel Zoe also stuck to what she does best with some bohemian romance. Working a similar colour palette to Jess, La Zoe floated onto the scene in our favourite summer staple - a laid-back maxi. J’adore!
