Welcome back Best Dressed followers! For our first delicacy from the weekend's jollies, we give thanks for Angelina Jolie and her burst of bright red. The formidable star of 'Salt', who's rarely seen out of safe [read: boring] neutrals, whisked up a storm in Russia this weekend when she arrived at the film's Moscow premiere dressed as the ultimate Lady in Red. Her glorious Atelier Versace halter neck gown of flowing silk chiffon was glammed up by a draped train over matching silk satin custom-made Versace peep-toe heels. Well, we're blown away. The impact was all the greater due to the outfit she donned earlier in the day when Angie stuck to her trademark sexy secretary chic with this silky chemise tucked into a sleek pencil skirt. We know which look we prefer but let us know what gets your vote.
Cameron Diaz also opted for a monochrome palette when she was back on the red carpet in Bordeaux alongside Mr Cruise for the French premiere of ‘Knight and Day’. Is it an oversized bib or a two-tone t-shirt we hear you ask? Nope, it is in fact a white and black silk crêpe de chine dress from Vionnet's S/S '11 collection. Yes, it's super duper short but with those leggy legs of hers, she looks beyond glorious in that laid-back way of hers. What more could you expect?
Speaking of wonderful leggyness, step forward Blake Lively. Although she kept her never-ending pins underwraps in black silk rolled-up trousers, our favourite Gossip Girl made the most of those other marvellous, er, assets of hers with a rather revealing Preen Resort 2011 ensemble. No doubt it got those Comic Con nerds in quite the tizzy... Meanwhile, Milla Jovovich made an appearance at the event for 'Resident Evil' looking like a lovely little humbug in this RM by Roland Mouret lurex striped dress. What a pleasant surprise!
Posing for photographers at the Cartier International Polo event yesterday, we have Cat Deeley staying true to the boho princess she is in this vintage maxidress and, unsurprisingly for the girl who'll be starring in their A/W ad campaign, she accessorised with Links of London jewellery. Meanwhile, Paloma Faith also took to the lawn and played down her typically outrageous outfits by going ladylike in a long sleeve floral dress by Dolce & Gabbana, but that eye-catching Philip Treacy head gear, polka dot bag and those yellow platforms provide that trademark quirk (phewf!). Like a classic English rose, Poppy Delevigne jumped onto the red wagon with a sultry lacey number, in contrast to Amber le Bon and Camilla Belle who looked sweet-as-pie in their white get-ups. What an eclectic turn out!
