Where would we be without Lulu Kennedy? Well we’d be without Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicoll, Gareth Pugh, Marios Schwab, Roksanda Ilincic, Louise Gray, Henry Holland, Michael van der Ham and Holly Fulton for a start. For the lovely Lulu K, talent scout extraordinaire, is the founder of Fashion East, and gave all the above designers their first breaks. So in celebration of Fashion East’s 10th anniversary, it’s only fair that they give Lulu something back.
Launching in October, Lulu & co is a collection of the key pieces that the designers have produced over the last 10 years. We had a sneaky preview this morning – which means no images so far unfortunately – but believe us when we say these are investment pieces, and the collection is as fun and eclectic as Fashion East has always been. Available in London’s Harvey Nichols, Colette in Paris and Opening Ceremony in New York, there are already plans afoot to make this a regular collection, involving different designer friends each season.
We’re delighted for Lulu, and a little teeny bit peeved too, because the dress that Louise Gray is reissuing for the collection is one that a certain Grazia girl here already has in her wardrobe, and has been smug in the knowledge that there were only four of them in the whole world.
Damn you Lulu, damn you. But congrats too!
