Following in the footsteps of London designers Matthew Williamson, Giles Deacon and Erdem, the latest fashion name to team up with deluxe stationers Smythson and create a limited edition collection of catwalk cool diaries and notepads is... Holly Fulton. After a stint designing at Lanvin, Holly set up on her own, quickly becoming known for her sleek modern spin on Art-Deco style - a look that has translated beautifully to her designs for Smythson, which will feature the designer’s favorite palette of black with yellow and pale aqua. All of the notebooks and diaries will be lined in white silk printed with a black geometric pattern from Fulton’s A/W ‘10 collection.
“Drawing is one of my guilty pleasures and I’ll take any excuse to spend longer doing it,” said Fulton “I am heavily influence by materials, so I was delighted to have the chance to work in a different medium.”
And who is behind all the Bond Street stationer’s genius fashion collaborations? Step Samantha Cameron, Britain's new First Lady. She may have taken a step back from her duties as the brand's Creative Advisor, but she is not giving up her pet project for the label, and remains keen to support emerging British talent.
Holly Fulton’s collection will be hitting Smythson stores in October - but we'd advise getting your name on a waiting list right now…
