Ooh she’s a cutie, ain’t she? Unlike a lot of reality TV contestants who require constant grooming and style advice (can you even remember how Girls Aloud used to dress? Yowsers!) Diana Vickers has always had her own, kooky, bare-footed style. OK, so the bare foot thing she may have stolen from Joss Stone but her fashion sense is a thousands leagues ahead.
So after her West End musical stint, we’re glad to see the Little Voice starlet heading back out into the pop wilderness, and with a comeback wardrobe to certainly get our style radar bleeping . Not only is Miss V championing some of the coolest new Brit designers out there (including a pink graphic dress from Krystof Strozyna, two vibrant Julian J Smith numbers and even a tasselled skirt fresh from the catwalk of graduate Flett Bertram) but she’s also trailblazing some awesome trends without the assistance of designer labels too.
The thigh split maxi? Well, we’ve only seen Carine Roitfeld do that in her uber-ferosh way, but we like Diana’s innocently-skipping-through-a-meadow take on the look, and complete with a ‘squag’ handbag she looks modern and oh-so-sweet. Then there’s her Kate Bush moment; performing on stage at T in The Park, Diana chose a tomato red silky jumpsuit from Belle & Bunty, the purveyors of all things gorgeously floaty, silky and summer friendly – her sunshine yellow dress if from there too.
As the weekend of Lovebox is fast approaching (only a few hours to wait!) and we’re all on the hunt for some cool city-festi-fashion, we think channelling this Bambi of the music world would set us in good stead. Do you like Diana’s style? And how do you think she compares to her fellow X-Factor girls like Stacey Solomon or Alexandra Burke?
