The Best Dressed List: to be saved for a sunny day.

Ok, so the sun may have deserted our Blighty shores today but those Hollywood starlets are still cracking out their sunny-suitable glad rags over on t'other side of the pond, just to remind us of what we’re missing *sob* But no need to fret dears, because we advise keeping these visual aids in mind for when the warm weather does reappear, which we trust will be very soon. See, every cloud and all that...

Firstly, just look how sprightly our Sarah Jessica Parker is here, tottering about NYC in a blue frock made adorable thanks to the dreamy star print, frilly sleeves and high waist in contrast to the tough lace-up booties. Isn’t it a treat to see SJP shedding her usually shabby daywear and looking so feminine away from the SATC parade? We say it is. In fact, she looks just as cute as the teensy-tiny Kristen Bell who hit the town last night in a delightful blue and white tie-dye dress from Louis Vuitton’s S/S ‘10 collection, which she kept super-summery in surfer chick style thanks to a white clutch and those light grey heels. What’s not to love?

Clemence Poesy was another stunner looking fresh and flirty while filming for Gossip Girl in the trendy streets of Queens, NY. We’re giving the actress top marks for letting her sheer Fendi S/S '10 shift do all the talking by steering clear of any accessorising and sweeping her long hair into a simple bun. Only a little poppet like Clem could get away with such a tummy-exaggerating style. Yep, not a bit try-hard, not too flouncy, not a thing to criticize.

Also direct from the GG set, we bring you Jessica Szohr exhibiting classic Vanessa style. While we’ve seen the rest of the pack going all-out-glam in Paree, Jess is sticking to her character’s ethnic spirit courtesy of an ikat print on her vibrant Nanette Lepore Wild West dress, which she wore under a casual True Religion denim vest. The Stuart Weitzman studded clogs, fringed bag and a colourful Aurélie Bidermann necklace are the perfect finishing touches for the trend, but has she gone a tad overboard in comparison to her minimalist co-star?

But it’s not all about pretty little dresses for today’s selection because for the closing tidbit on your fashion plate, we present January Jones and Brittany Snow giving high-waisted trousers a whirl. While Brit smoothly hopped on the harem bandwagon with her print pantaloons (not so convinced by that asymmetric top), January left Betty Draper behind and turned to Louis Vuitton’s Resort 2011 collection for this sleek ensemble consisting of a black organza blouse and belted navy slacks that make her legs go on for days. Ooh, how we love a good pair of fancy pants for dressing up our daywear! But of course, this is merely our humble opinion so we pass the decision making over to you...
