We found this AMAZING pic of Carine, now Editor in chief of French Vogue, from
her modelling days, on the R du jour blog
Have we mentioned before that we are rather partial to a fashion-based biography? Of course we have – there aren’t many calorie-free treats as fun as a good book and we’ve just got wind of another blinder in the pipeline.
Olivier Zahm, editor-in-chief of Purple magazine and all round sleazy-eyed, rug-chested French fancy is to write a book about cape-twirling, glinty black-eyed high priestess of goth-luxe, Carine Roitfeld!
Huzzah! This news was enough to have us jumping from our desk exclaiming ‘We can’t wait!’ and ‘We hope it comes out in English translation at the same time!’ Seeing as the publisher is Rizzoli, it’ll most likely be a coffee table book, and it’s coming out in Autumn of 2011. But THEN we read the second part of the news.
More recently, with Olivier Zahm, who is to author her biography
Monsieur Zahm is inviting fashion bloggers and fans of Mme Roitfeld in cyberland to SEND IN QUESTIONS for the lady herself to respond to in the book. Excellent idea! So we’ve been rather distracted this afternoon, coming up with our own questions.
How do you become a muse?
What’s the best way of dealing with anti-fur protesters?
What is Tom Ford (she was a consultant for Gucci for most of the ‘90’s with him) REALLY like?
Does she ever have to pay for ANY of her clothes?
So many thoughts, so little time!
