Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow’s deep friendship has been memorialised by a beautiful rose.
Before his death, the designer selected a bright pink bloom as a tribute to his late mentor and best friend Isabella Blow.
The rose is called “Alexander’s Issie” and was presented to Blow’s sister Julia Delves Broughton yesterday at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, an event that the late designer had always intended to attend.

Yesterday, Broughton paid tribute to the pair, saying, “my sister, Isabella, was passionate and totally dedicated to fashion, but only her closest friends knew of her love of gardens, and in particular, roses. Their unique colour and beauty, combined with their thorny nature greatly appealed to her and to her distinctive eye. She would have been extremely honoured to receive this wonderful gift from her most beloved friend, Alexander."
McQueen is understood to have spent months searching for the perfect rose, before finally choosing the pink rose, which he felt reflected Blow's bright personality, and bold sense of style.
