Last Night's Best Dressed: from new goodies to classic oldies

01 July 2010

Well, how refreshing! New Hollywood darling, Mia Wasikowska attended the premiere of the 'Kids Are All Right' in New York City last night and looked blinking marvellous in this adorable creation of sheer panels and delicate lace detailing from Rodarte's SS08 catwalk. The pleated overlay keeps the look modest and along with that tomboyish hair do a-top her pixie-ish face, the overall effect is uniquely chic - no accessories needed. So a big bravo to Mia and her sartorial fearlessness, opting for something a little different always gets our vote.

Another young actress not to be overlooked is Freida Pinto who supported her man on the red rug yesterday (such cuteness) and oh how we’ve missed her! The 'Slumdog Millionaire' actress was quite the vision in this vibrant Oscar de la Renta Resort 2011 dress, stealing the LIMElight with ease. That ruffled detail falling asymmetrically across the body creates added interest and only serves to enhance her slender frame. What a stunner!

And look who else is back – Angelina Jolie! And guess what? She’s not wearing black. Fash fans, rejoice! Keeping it classic in a white Atelier Versace dress, Ange positively glowed in all her glorious freshness, especially with the gathering on the bust to up the frock's femininity. Shiloh’s androgynous style hasn’t rubbed off just yet then...

Next up, we have an old Best Dressed favourite and a fine example of smoothly and stylishly switching from day to night, courtesy of Agyness Deyn. We tracked the model’s fashion steps yesterday as she changed from a casual get-up of denim cut-offs + punk vest for a city stroll to some superduper cool evening attire consisting of a layered LBD under a bulky biker jacket, while consistently maintaining her trademark rock’n’roll vibe. It’s a perfect lesson for us all so take note, ladies.
