Last Night's Best Dressed: Easy, Breezy!

Today we begin with some grey matters, brought to us on the fine female forms of Zoe Saldana, Jessica Szohr and Devon Aoki. All three were out on the town last night in varying shades of grey, convincing us that this is not a colour reserved only for the drab winter months, especially when topped off with a bit of bronzing. Because whether going smart and sleek a la Zoe, channeling Jess with her casual frock or getting sexy in a calf-biter like Devon’s, this is one versatile and super practical choice for the ladylike among us – plus, it goes with everything so you can easily avoid snoozeville. Wayhey!

Cameron Diaz also went down the neutral route for her double whammy yesterday and we’re mightily impressed. Here’s why:

See! Beautiful, right? The actress was breezing about New York promoting her new flick 'Knight and Day' alongside Tom Cruise and wisely chose to keep it fresh for outfit number one: a pale blue Rag & Bone blazer over a simple white tee and legs-galore ivory silk shorts from the Olsen’s sportswear line Elizabeth & James, all polished off with a pair of summer-suitable Chloé wedged heels. Tick, tick, tick! And for round 2, Cam continued the good work by ramping up the sophistication in an ultra-mini minidress that she teamed with another blazer, this time longer and looser to match the high hemline. Overall, very Cammy McClassy!

Katie Holmes and Rihanna bring in today’s finale with their jeans + sweater ensembles, which provide the perfect illustration of how to work casual glam. We’re especially beguiled by Katie who looked comfy and cosy yet simultaneously sleek and fashioney – a combo we are forever trying to conquer. Rihanna went a little more ghetto fabulous, or is it just that glowing red beacon a-top her head which makes her every outfit look so funky? All in all, we may not be bowled over by her latest offering but that RiRi sure knows how to make an impact and for that, we can only be grateful, dontcha think?
