Will Giles return to showing his own line at London Fashion Week after two seasons in Paris? He won the ANDAM Award – a bursary from the French Fashion organisation to further boost the winning brand and bolster sales and publicity by showing in France in 2009 and has spent fashion week in the French capital ever since.
When Giles showed in London he was a massively anticipated highlight in the city’s schedule. He’s a popular personality as well as a respected designer, but in France he was landed with annoying time slots – meaning not all of the editors could reach his shows as they clashed with other fashion weeks, being at the end or the start of the week.
Now since the news a couple of weeks back that Giles is to take over at beleaguered fashion house Ungaro, there are hopes that he will return to showing his own collections here (his studio and team are based in London) while he heads up the team for Ungaro over in Pareee. We hope this is true - we've missed his giant eggs and flying saucer hats.
