Alice Dellal and The Horrors plan to Save the Whales!

18 June 2010

WDCS have released a short film which was made with the help of model Alice Dellal, actor Christopher Eccleston and Goth-Rock band The Horrors. The short but quite graphic film, aims to highlight a bigger event – On the 21st June the IWC (International Whaling Commission) will meet in Agadir, Morocco to discuss a possible lift of the commercial whaling ban, a ban which has been in place for the past 24 years protecting thousands of whales in the process.

Through the film the WDCS want to encourage as many people as possible to sign an online e-protest which will then be delivered to the leaders of the IWC before the vote takes place.

The ban has been in place for the past 24 years, dramatically reducing the numbers of whales killed. However, on the 21st June in Agadir, Morocco the International Whaling Commission (IWC) will begin the process of voting on whether to lift the ban and potentially open the floodgates to whaling across the globe once again.

The aim of the protest is simple; to directly challenge the proposed lifting of the whaling ban and potentially save thousands of whales in the future. If you feel strongly about this issue then please feel free to take a stand by signing their online petition
