Karen Elson, our favourite flame haired model and muse is back in front of the cameras rather a microphone after a break from modelling spent living in Nashville, being Mrs Jack White - she has two children with the White Stripes and Raconteurs rocker - AND writing and releasing her own album, The Ghost Who Walks. Even the ‘serious’ music press like the Guardian and NME who would usually rather lie down at the front of a moshpit than praise the work of a model-turned-singer have given her rather good reviews, and so we thought we might have seen the last of her posing days. But Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton have persuaded her to return, in their A/W '10 campaigns. Yay!

Other campaign casting news includes – more modelling veterans like Christy Turlington (also for Louis Vuitton) and Gisele (for Roberto Cavalli). Quite a few Victoria’s Secret ‘Angels’ are continuing to dominate the world of fully-clothed fashion (after their takeover of the catwalks at Prada, Giles and Louis Vuitton), like Freja Beha and Abbey Lee (Chanel) and Miranda Kerr (Prada and Jil Sander) Alessandra Ambrosio (Loewe).

Other girls who have managed to sweep up enough campaigns to keep them in Louboutins for the time being are Karlie Kloss (Christian Dior, Donna Karan, Oscar de la Renta) and Daria Werbowy (the sole face of YSL).

In the real world, we may be just getting to grips with our first barbecues and bare legged days (and hoping they won’t be the last!) but over in the world of fashwan, all thoughts are now turning to A/W. Shoots being planned, looks called in and, now that the girls have been cast, all that remains is for the next round of mags to hit the stands so we can start salivating over what we’ll be wearing come the Autumn. Yippeee!
