Michael Kors, Stella McCartney, Giorgio Armani – they’re just a few of Gwyneth Paltrow’s friends with major fashwan credentials. And as they say, with great power comes great responsibility. So with pals like Gwynnie's, you’ll never have the opportunity to put a sartorial foot wrong and if you do, no one will forgive you. Especially not us. But this week Goop girl Gwynnie has triumphed, cementing her status as the thinking woman’s bit of fashionable crumpet – not only can she totally blast her honed way through the whole ankle boots and body con dress combination that fast became her signature style throughout last year’s Iron Mail promotional trail, but Gwynnie can do tailoring, she can do sophisticated black tie and she still looks amazing even when she branches out of her safe style zone to try out something a little wacky too – take that fluoro pink Prada 1960s style dress at The National Movie Awards as an example.
However, our favourite Gwyneth get-up this past week was her Stella McCartney oatmeal blazer and utility khakis look – it was so simple, but made so effective by her styling tricks; turn up the collar, roll up the trouser hems, add some killer pointy courts to smarten everything up and kazaam! you have an incredibly cool grip on how to do modern smart-casual.
How do you feel about Mrs Chris Martin? Cold-play or seriously hot?!
