Oh blimey, what HAVE we started?
A couple of weeks ago we declared in Grazia that J Brand's Houlihan trousers, a slim-fit low-slung combat style were THE mega-trend of the moment - with A-listers Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Alba, Rihanna and Gwen Stefani already devotees.
And then this week, we announced on Grazia Daily that it was now Code Red on Houlihan fever, as half the Grazia staff turned up to work in the white-hot cropped combats. Turns out that was just Code Amber, because since then, Selfridges have reported that they have sold out in store; with the Oxford street flagship shifted £20K of the £245 trousers in one week alone, (there's already a waiting list for the next delivery). Meanwhile, my-wardrobe.com and net-a-porter.com are running seriously low on stock. Yowsers.
And with none other than Kate Moss appearing in the Houlihans yesterday (with a rock chick stripey tee and white ankle boots), we predict the situation is only going to get worse.
You can blame Grazia's very own Fashion Editor at Large. The first to spot that the khaki pants would be THE Trouser of Summer 2010, Melanie Rickey was out wearing her own pair last night with tan cropped riding boots.
And this morning news reaches us that the Hooli will be reissued in even more colours for Autumn. Yay! Who's up for seconds?
