Larry King is America's talk show king - his nightly programme, Larry King Live, is 25 years old, making it CNN's most watched and longest running program, with over one million viewers tuning in each evening.
The show may not be screened in the UK, but King is such a legend that you probably recognise him, not least for his distinctive style - shirt, tie, braces, glasses and no jacket.
King has interviewed everyone from politicians to celebrities, often by satellite link-up. When Lady Gaga was due to be beamed in from London for an interview on the show this weekend, we fully expected she would appear on the video screen buried beneath a trembling mountain of scarlet lace or hiding behind a Hannibal Lecter diamante-studded facemask. But Gagaloo never likes to be predictable. And instead, she appeared on screen in a witty take on King's own iconic on-screen uniform (although obviously, this being Lady G, her look was way more vive-la-difference - silk shirt, black sequinned braces, red lips and round shades). The effect was brilliantly, subtly, subversive.
Of course, the pint-sized style icon never stops reinventing herself, but it's almost shocking now to see Lady Gaga wearing CLOTHES. [gawker]
