You can always count on this couple of trendsetters to bring a dollop of pizzazz to their daywear and how better to do it than with some vibrant patterns? Both Rihanna and her BFF Katy Perry stepped out in colourful animal prints: KP got sexy in her ruffled frock while RiRi brought her trademark boldness to Tel Aviv with some clever clashing courtesy of a enormous shawl thrown over her Diane von Furstenberg SS10 maxi. Wonderful!
Rihanna continued her powerful print parade for a night on the Jerusalem tiles when she opted for another mind-boggling maxi (£34 from ASOS no less!) that's not unlike one of those magic eye images, and wisely kept the rest of the look super simple. Also merrily patterned this weekend was the lovely January Jones who looked fresh as a daisy while partying in the Hollywood Hills. Thank you JJ for showing us how to work a beyond cool monochrome mini of paisley prints so nonchalantly – and we know it’d be just as cutesy come disco time when teamed with a killer pair of heels.
And here is one little lady who knows how to combine key pieces without a fight for centre stage. Yep, SJP made a statement by incorporating a distinctive grey cable pattern into her wardrobe with this gorgeously frayed Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2010 jacket when visiting the late designer’s London office, while Charlize Theron and Miley Cyrus added some interest to their black trousers with psychedelic tie-dye tops (that's edgy Proenza Schouler for our Miley dontcha know!). And so the lesson, ladies, is learnt: less is definitely more. Simples!
