We reported earlier this week that Ungaro had finally confirmed that Giles Deacon would be its new Creative Director, replacing Lindsay Lohan and Estrella Arch's brief and catastrophic tenure.
And now more details have have come out about the A Team that the Brit is assembling around him. Giles has already signed up super-stylist Katie Grand (of Vuitton and Prada fame), to consult on the label. Grand also works alongside Giles at his own label, for around 20 days a year, and the pair also previously dated.
Just as thrillingly, Giles has revealed his choice for the House muse. And it's none other than the Parisian Fashion Queen herself, Carine Roitfeld; "Carine Roitfeld has a very Ungaro feel about the way she dresses: the tailored jacket, the pencil skirt" said Mr D, characterising the French Vogue Editor's style as "kind of tarty with intelligence. I see them as really empowering clothes, and lots of women like playing with the psychology of all that. It’s an interesting game."
Roitfeld is not thought to be working in any official capacity at Ungaro, but we can't knock Giles' choice of muse. Katie Grand AND Carine Roitfeld? It's that kind of faultless taste that fills us with confidence that Ungaro have finally found the right man for the job..
