Did you see our very own Mary Portas on Jonathan Ross’ show on Friday night? If not, we whole-heartedly recommend you catch it on iPlayer. Not only did Wossy do his usual flirt and tease routine, he even donated a pair of his own bright red Gaultier trousers (yikes) for Mary’s new permanent Living and Giving Shop – which opened on Saturday!
So yes, despite the blazing sunshine the crowds were queuing around the (Notting Hill) block to meet Mary, snack on Molly Bakes cakes and Vita Coco drinks (yum), and of course, donate and buy some sought after fashion pieces (much of which seems to have come from the wardrobes of Grazia’s own staffers).
Many of the bargains were snapped up by those lucky Grazia readers who had booked in advance to shop the Shop an hour before it officially opened, including the most lust-worthy Golden Ticket items – such as an Alexa bag (the first item to go, sold to a shopper who’d been queuing since 8am) and a pair of studded Christian Louboutin heels, which were snapped up by a Grazia shopper who had previously bought and returned the shoes from a swanky online boutique after realising they were too expensive (sensible girl). And then what did she spy in the Living and Giving store in just the right size? We love a bit of fashion destiny…
And don’t miss the chance to peruse the star attraction (no, not Wossy’s trousers) an entire glass cabinet of vintage Chanel bags! Yes!
All the fashion is being sold in aid of Save the Children. And the shop raised a whopping £7, 000 on Saturday – with £2,500 raised in the first hour of trading alone.
