Oh Cannes, how we’ll miss you! Forget the battle for the Palme d'Or, we’ve been enthralled by the red carpet fash-off over the past 12 days and are still entirely conflicted about who should be crowned Queen of Cannes. Kate Beckinsale swathed in frou-frou perhaps? Or how about Miss glam-personified, Naomi Campbell? And not forgetting that cute-as-a-button Michelle Williams, who should not be overlooked now that she's back to her best... So just to add to the conundrum, we have another selection of delights from the final weekend as we bid a fond farewell to this year’s film fest. Enjoy the view, then get commenting below because the most constructive comments will appear in next week's issue of Grazia!
Oh yes, nothing beats the beauty of Diane Kruger so you can imagine our sighs at seeing her stepping onto the red carpet for the premiere of ‘The Tree'. And more good news – this beautiful two-tone gown of black and fuschia is by Kruger fave, Jason Wu. So gorgeous, so elegant (natch).
Hooray for Kirsten Dunst who also brought a splash of colour to the typically muted colour palette in this Chanel number, hot off the Resort 2011 catwalk. As much as we’re blown away by the turquoise colour, that ankle-length hemline turns it from uber glam to frumpathon. Hmph.
That Cheryl Cole sure knows how to work a slice of flesh! The sexy stunner upped the ante for her Cannes debut in this white hot Versace AW10 gown complete with a saucy thigh-high slit and hawt cut-out details for the premiere of 'Outside Of The Law'. Er, Ashley who?
Salma Hayek continued the goddess vibe she’s done so well thus far in yet another Gucci Première gown, this time of the blush pink variety – a tone which works perfectly against a sallow skin. We’re loving the originality of that fringed wraparound necklace too, which beautifully accentuates the gold bulge beads embellishing the draped waistline. We swoon.
We couldn't let this pass without comment, for here is our beloved Beth Ditto taking a risk once again by shunning the tried and tested red carpet formula of old-fashioned elegance. This time, she’s kitted herself out in a suitably eccentric get up, complete with a fox-inspired print and floaty feathers on the neckline. How refreshing!
Old Cannes pro, Milla Jovovich went for the full works in this Louis Vuitton AW10 gown, squeezing her curves into a clinging corset and fabulously full skirt of tweed tiers. It might look like she’s swathed in her grandmother’s curtains but we can’t help being delighted that the 'Mad Men' era has hit the red carpet.
Speaking of which, we have the equally charming Kristin Scott Thomas dazzling the crowd in cascades of bold yellow fit for a Queen. What more could we ask for? Honestly, not much.
