Style Icon, tv presenter, rock star girlfriend, model, journalist, fashion muse. There’s no denying Alexa Chung is a modern renaissance woman. Not only do we want to dress like her, we’d quite like to be her too (and how many style icons can you say that about?). So we always knew she was smarter than your average celeb, but we didn’t realize that she was arty too. Turns out the endlessly-talented Alexa is also able to turn her hand to delightfully quirky doodles (no wonder she’s so down with fashion designer Charles Anastase, who started out as a fashion illustrator). The Chung has illustrated the cover of a limited edition journal, which also includes extracts from the personal diaries of the likes Courtney Love, erotic novelist Anais Nin and unknown teenagers from Kenya. The diaries are being sold in aid of youth charity Ctrl.Alt.Shift. with ‘lined pages for written confessions and blank pages for sketches’ only 250 journals are available, for £18.80 from jotta.com
The diary ties in with an exhibition opening in London today showcasing the famous diaries of Kurt Cobain, Sylvia Plath, Courtney Love, and even fictional characters, such as David Lynch’s ill-fated teen Laura Palmer from Twin Peaks.
Alexa’s diary is not included, but we would imagine that most days’ entries would read ‘Got up. Was awesome. Went to bed.’
