London seems to be getting quite well in touch with the animal kingdom at the moment, wouldn’t you agree? Quite aside from the multicoloured parade of elephants you’ll spot around the streets, Nicole Farhi has offered up her shop windows as an exhibition space for Italian sculptor Benedetta Mori-Ubaldini who makes these quirky beautiful animals from chicken wire . . .
Now the mannequins in Ms Farhi’s posh Bond St store are joined by some jumbo pets; we’re particularly taken by the giant bunny as well as the giraffe.
All the pieces, - including geese, OUR bunny, toadstools, a fox, donkeys, chimps and a flock of birds, will be up for sale when the zoo closes in mid June. We are already picturing him as the centrepiece of our living room. If that doesn't make us seem more interesting and cultured to our dinner party guests then NOTHING WILL! and besides, unlike a micro pig, he won't need housetraining.
