As regular followers of Grazia Daily will know by now, we pride ourselves on being the Miss Marples of the fashion world. So we were completely intrigued when we got a tip-off from the ladies at Rigby and Peller about The Case of the Disappearing Pants! The venerable underwear makers (providing bras and knickers for the likes of Sophie Dahl, Stella McCartney, Isabella Rossellini, Gwyneth Paltrow and The Queen, by royal appointment) had lent the brand new samples from the AW10 collection to . . . Lady Gaga.
Being great fans of the Lady herself, Rigby and Peller were pinching themselves at the thought of seeing their designs in her next video, but when the Fed Ex delivery due to contain the returned undies - and just in the knick (chortle!) of time before the samples were due to appear in the AW catwalk show – there were quite a few pieces missing!
Rigby and Peller told Grazia Daily, “We would stress though there is NO suggestion the items have been stolen or deliberately delayed, it is just unfortunate! They are all handmade and unique designs that we need because they are the prototypes to put the designs into production.”
Yikes! If you have seen these pants and bras hanging around anywhere PLEASE get in touch with Grazia and we will pass the message on . . .
