It has been revealed that French actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey is to star in the fourth instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise as a mermaid and Johnny Depp’s (aka Captain Jack Sparrow) love interest. While we won’t judge you if you don’t recognise her as an actress, but if her face seems familiar, it may be because she is the current face of the oh-la-la French Connection advertising campaign. Rumour has it that Pirates producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, saw the French Connection poster in SoHo, New York and wanted her to audition. It will be the actress’s first English-speaking role, but we doubt it will be her last.
