The Best Dressed List: floaty frocks and happy hippos!

We’ve seen an array of Little White Dresses this week but if you’re still after some style inspiration for spring dressing, look no further than this lovely lot and their floaty frocks.

First up, we can always count on the impeccably attired Whitney Port to get gorgeously dreamy and this sheer maroon maxi she wore to the Women in Need Gala last night is beyond beautiful. That rich blush colour works perfectly with a light tan and Whitters dresses it up nicely with metallic accessories, a pretty Prada bag and those luscious golden locks. Yum. Also getting it totally spot-on with a similar silhouette was Nicole Richie who has long had a knack for mastering romantic bohemian. Proving that the loose-fitting shape is perfect for a day in the sun, the printed dress is LA cool at its best: sweet, simple and the overall hippy aesthetic is always an excellent choice for sunnier times. And our final source of style stalkablity comes in the form of our beloved Sarah Jessica Parker. Top marks SJP for offsetting the soft lines on her beautiful Sophia Kokosalaki dress with a statement necklace and tough chain bag worn across the body, plus that striking pair of heels further play sup the contrast. Good work.

Well, looks like we’ve found a winner for the Eccentric Ensemble of the Week Award. When nothing but kooky kitsch will do, why not wear a cartoon dress complete with a Happy Hippo design? We absolutley LOVE the goofy frock by up-and-coming designer Yang Du. But who’s the lady catching our eye with such a wacky wonder? Meet songstress Marina Lambrini Diamandis (try saying that with a hangover), also known as Marina and the Diamonds who we suspect will be making a big impact this year. Marina, this is your moment. Enjoy.
