Meester, Sevigny, Goodwin... Oh you've got us all in a spin with your fashwan delights. So confused are we that we just can't decide who deserves to be crowned today's Best Dressed, so we pass the judging over to you lot. Dig in to our selection and get a-voting!
It’s no secret that this little lady is prone to leaning towards the more experimental end of the style spectrum and for the premiere of "Date Night" in NYC, she didn’t let us down. Leighton walked the red carpet in a funky Giambattista Valli SS10 frock toughened up by buckled PHI heels befitting her age and edgy predisposition. So far, so tame you might think...until she turns to reveal a back of green fringing (the technical term for such things, we’re sure). Boy, this is perplexing. Could it be a cape consisting of the remains of a pom pom? Has she nicked a shredded curtain from the corner shop? Who knows, but we fear Blair Waldorf would not approve. Do you?
After Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Love Hewitt got into the spring spirit with LWDs (aka: Little White Dresses) over the weekend, we were two-thirds of the way to setting a trend. But today brings another set of starlets hopping onto the bandwagon. First up, Jennifer Aniston quashed her LBD fetish on the set of her new film, "Just Go With It", when she tottered about in this nifty number and then SJP was spotted looking seasonably suitable in a nightie-like shift. Meanwhile, Jessica Stam presented yet another incarnation with a dose of streamlined sexy for Derek Blasberg's 'Classy' Book Party. And as the saying goes - three’s a trend, five’s a fashion phenomenon!
Joining Stam in NY, cool kids Leigh Lezark and Chloe Sevigny donned glad rags of the city chic variety. Considering head-to-toe black is essentially Leigh’s uniform, it’s quite a treat to see her lightening up with a touch of biege but it’s Chloe’s get-up that really has us beguiled. The high level of awesomeness displayed in her Proenza Schouler AW10 mini-dress has got us drooling and that scribble-print is divine. La Sev’s style tip? Just add ankle socks, peep toe lace-ups and a pair of mile-long legs. Sickeningly cool, naturally.
Last but by no means least we have the adorable actress Ginnifer Goodwin. After rocking a cobalt draped dress by Vionnet for this year's Golden Globe Awards, GG was back to their elegant wares and looked like a complete and utter fox because of it. Well what else would we expect from the hostess of a swanky cocktail reception celebrating the French design house? The charcoal grey dress of sumptuous silk and velvet from the AW10 collection is super luxurious and the naughty cut-outs bring some sexiness to her cute-as-pie looks. As for those faux leather boots, they're just down right fierce, no? We can only hope there’ll be more where that came from... Wouldn't it be fab to see the likes of Carey Mulligan rocking such a terrificly goth look? Place your bets now, people!
