We’re sure there are some meanies out there who think that Nicole Richie is nothing more than a by-product of the Paris Hilton or Rachel Zoe whirlwind. And we admit that when we first heard of Nicole’s plans to start building her fashion empire, no matter how much we adored her personal style, there was a little giggle of, “Here we go again, another celebrity ‘fashion’ brand – ooh watch out Lindsay Lohan!” How wrong we were.
Her gorgeous House of Harlow jewellery collection was a roaring success last year, (there’s quite a few of those aztec bangles stacked up on the arms of the fashion team at Grazia) and so we were more than excited to see the follow up clothing line - Winter Kate.
Her fashion range has been available in the UK since the beginning of this spring/summer season – and since then, the easy-to-wear kimono cover ups, floaty printed dresses and decorative jackets (all at a rather reasonable price point) have been selling like hot cakes. So, it’s about time we had another dose of Winter Kate’s signature bohemia. Ok, we can’t get our mitts on this collection until autumn/winter of this year, but in preparation, let’s pick favourites.
This drop has a bit of a retro vibe – 60’s monochrome baby doll dresses and tailoring worn with top hats (think Cabaret), a 70’s slinky jumpsuit and a vintage-look print long dress. But we bagsy the very fetching peacock printed silky jacket first - it’ll look fab over some skinny jeans! [nylonmag]
