From the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards to Perez Hilton's 32nd birthday bash, check out this weekend’s fancy pants...

Leave it to Katy Perry to bring a dose of spunkiness. After rocking a metallic mini by The Blonds at the MTV VMAs as well as at the 2009 Brits, the singer returned to the design duo for yet another sparkly show-stopper from their AW10 collection. OTT rhinestones, glittering wedges, rainbow-coloured lurex - all to be expected on a Perry, and the corset works wonders at amplifying those voluptuous curves. Would we prefer it to be a little less, er, revealing? Well yeah (this is the Kids Choice Awards after all) but we can't always get what we wish for, so let’s just be happy with what we have, which is pretty darn marvellous.

Heavens, Rihanna has confounded us once again with this girlie get-up. Katy’s BFF opted for a Christian Dior SS10 frock as previously seen on queen of kooky cool, Florence Welsh - but Ri-Ri knows how to make it her own with shoulder pads and an edgy new ‘do. Isn’t it a treat to see her in a dress of such Sunday school prettiness and the nipped in waist flaring out to a flippy hemline is just swell. Hell, we’re even loving the shoes and socks combo. What we do have an issue with is that blinging crucifix and those distracting beads - but then we like to give credit where credit’s due, so we’ll let her off.

zoe salanda

It’s no secret that Zoe Saldana astounded us all with her gorgeous Givenchy gown at the Oscars, firmly securing her place on our fashwan A-list, so it’s rather lovely to see she can also work casual chic on the red (or in this case, orange) carpet. Looking supremely lithe, the Avatar star was kitted out in sleek skinnies by Nobody Denim, a cropped Isabel Marant tweed jacket layered over a simple L’Agence tee, all topped off by satin Louboutins. Apart from the slightly random addition of a hot pink clutch, all in all we dig. Do you?

As for the rest, we see where Rosario Dawson was going with this white frock and yet we’re unconvinced - there’s something about it that verges on dowdiness… Meanwhile, Pixie Lott was still emitting that cute aura thanks to her passionate attachment to adorable LBDs, and Tyra Banks looked sharp in a curve-hugging red number funked up by yellow accents and a very fetching bob. Bravo!

Next up, a heartfelt expression of thanks goes out to Jennifer Aniston who attended the French premiere of The Bounty Hunter last night. We can’t help applauding her brave decision to go the flamboyant route with this strapless gown from Christian Lacroix’s SS09 catwalk. And get this, it’s pink. PINK! Sure, she looks a tad like a sugar plum fairy engulfed in a silk sarong but when it comes to Jen, any hint of colour must be celebrated. Good on ya girl!

Over at Perez Hilton’s fancy dress party, the circus freaks were on full throttle. The usual suspects arrived, including LiLo and Katy Perry in yet another flesh-flashing number. But it was Leona Lewis who was the most shocking sight to behold. In fact, three letters sprung to mind when we first saw her ensemble: OMG! Well, what a surprise. We love that La Lewis is revving up her fashwan credentials by going more experimental (it’s nice to see her out of a Westwood gown, too) but this is a tad overwhelming, no? The eye patch, the neck ruffle, that sequined crop top, those crinkled harems – gosh, where to start? But hey, it’s a learning experience, Leona. Baby steps.

Right, we’ve had our say so now it’s time to turn to the masses. Cast your vote using our special gismo above...
