Prada Charms Us With A Tale About Postcards

Encounters with fashion force Prada are rarely anything less than utterly charming. Grazia Daily is still mentally replaying the fashion label’s black and white film ‘First Spring’ by Chinese artist Yang Fudong, in which glamorous, Prada-clad characters mysteriously drift around a Shanghai from a bygone era…
But what should arrive in the Grazia Daily inbox today, but the latest enchanting project  – a poem, a film…and some achingly cool eyewear.
To celebrate the launch of its new “Postcards” collection of sunglasses, Prada has teamed up with long-time collaborator Steven Meisel, and Miuccia’s new discovery, model Raza Zukauskaite, to create its first ‘short audio tale.’

The film is accompanied by this delightfully quirky fashion prose… very Lolita..
There was my Riviera love
peering at me over dark glasses.
a mixture of dreamy childishness
and insidious intent.
A brash coquette. Bold and shy.
She talked about this and that.
Only half listening, I watched….
We were at the seaside
Water the color of a cloudy bottle.
Maybe Forte dei Marmi or Montauk,
Biarritz or Setùbal.
Under the cliffs of Cornwall or
sprawled on the sands of the endless Pacific with Santa Monica….
A faded postcard is my sacred relic.
In lavender ink and her loopy hand:
Wish we were here.
