Lily Allen's prams to be sold for charity

Some items are so iconic that they are practically a fash-wan statement. And so it is with the Silver Cross pram. Those bouncy Mad Men style baby carriages – so very Betty Draper - are so gorgeous they are the first choice for style icons like Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow, and the Royal Family.

These babies don’t come cheap - usually retailing for over £1,000, so it’s great news that War Child has been given eight amazing Silver Cross Balmoral prams to auction for their work protecting children from the brutal effects of war and its consequences, currently in Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq and Uganda

And these just aren’t any Silver Cross prams. These are the Silver Cross prams that appeared on stage at the Brits during Lily Allen’s performance of The Fear. War Child was the official partner of this year’s 30th Anniversary BRIT Awards, and the prams are part of a brilliant online auction of items donated from various performances from the show, also including Dizzee Rascal’s Gucci tux and Armani shirt, and Kasabian’s signed EKO guitar from the night.

Each of the prams comes with an authentication certificate signed by the Chairman of Silver Cross, as well as a signed photo of Lily Allen (and the prams) performing at the Brits, signed by the singer.

War Child’s auction, run by eBay will begin Thursday 25th and run for 10 days until 4th April. Get involved by clicking here.
