Wake up fashionistas! Anyone still sleeping off their collections-induced exhaustion can jolly well snap out of it now, because BIG news is in. The CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) award nominations have been announced, by Diane von Furstenberg herself. (And she's been confirmed as staying on as president of the council for another 2 years - congrats!)
Womenswear creators up for a gong include Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and, a veteran enjoying another fashion moment – Donna Karan. Accessories nominees include last year’s winners Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler as well as man of the moment Marc Jacobs and eighties jewels icon, Alexis Bittar.

Also to be honoured is that embodiment of grace and poise (and David Bowie’s missus) – Iman. Christopher Bailey is flying the British flag abroad as he’ll take home the International award for his fabulousness over at Burberry while Michael Kors will receive a lifetime achievement.
Well done one and all. We can’t wait till the ceremony . . . .
The Council have also decided to honour the late Lee McQueen in a one-off tribute award.
