Paris Best Dressed: Moss has landed!

10 March 2010

Kate Moss paris

At last, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: La Moss has landed. Arriving to promote her Longchamp collection, Kate looked delectable when tapping about the streets of Paris. Although she stuck to a somber palette of black and grey, those leather leggings with fierce zip detailing are one sure fire way to add an edge to French chic. If only us plebeians could pull of such Parisian perfection... For now, we can but dream.

Vanessa Paradis Lindsay Lohan

If you need more proof that Vanessa Paradis is THE girl us Graziaettes want to be, then look no further than the ensemble she chose for yesterday’s Chanel show. Our favourite French fancy was all sleek simplicity with a dash of bohemian thrown in thanks to her tweed SS10 blazer and floaty blouse from Chanel’s Starting Point collection. When you’ve been anointed as the face of Parisian chic by none other than King Karl, how can you go wrong? Also looking cool in monochrome was Lindsay Lohan. Fresh from the announcement that she’s split from Ungaro, LiLo fought back by working double leather with this biker and skin-tight trousers combo, topped off with fierce heels embellished with studs and a necklace of metal chains. Trying to tell us something, hmm?

More fashion darlings came in the form of Poppy Delevigne, Leigh Lezark and Caroline Sieber who decorated the FROW with their super-stylish sensibilities courtesy of Chanel, natch. While Poppy looked pretty in her SS10 jacket and Leigh went quirky with a striped dress from the Shanghai collection, we’re particularly beguiled by super stylist Caroline’s tweed SS10 suit in plush coral, complemented by a pair of nude lace-up Louboutin sandals. And how ADORABLE is that hair band atop her head? After spotting Lilo’s discreet adornment and Lou Doillon’s equivalent yesterday, we feel a trend coming on...

Speaking of La Doillon’s trendsetting ways, it seems Clemence Poesy has taken inspiration from the Frenchy’s wardrobe by sporting a similar silk-panelled olive dress for a spot of FROW-ing at the Chloe show. When stepping out into the afternoon chill, Clem covered up with a most covetable batwing coat that creates a super-sumptuous contrast. J’adore.

dita von teesedita von teese

After going full-blown dominatrix at the couture shows, Dita Von Teese certainly surprised us with this prim and proper get up at the Jean-Charles de Castelbajac show. Off-set by her retro waves and trademark red lips, DVT donned a velvet puff-sleeved power-suit teamed with fabulous gold tipped shoes and matching clutch. And although we’re fans of her out-there outfits (head-to-toe leather, anyone?), we respect that this more demure approach is an appropriate choice for cheering on your boyf’s dad. But wait, do we spy a red lace bra peeping through that sweet polka dot shirt? Well, you can take the girl out of the burlesque club...
