French Vogue not bienvenue at Balenciaga!

Mmm, here’s a mini mystery that’s made it over the Channel and into our ears this morning – French Vogue are banned from Balenciaga. Everyone spotted that Carine Roitfeld and her team were not at the show, then when questioned, Carine told WWD “We’re blacklisted,” It’s too bad, it’s a beautiful house and it’s French. I hope that it’s not forever.”

She declined to give a reason. After conducting a quick poll of the Grazia fashwan team – no one is any the wiser. Balenciaga likes to restrict access to its samples, show tickets and designer, Nicolas Ghesquiere in order to protect its cachet and further increase its mystique. It's completely shrouded in layers of mystery and protocol. We see how sometimes 'less is more' with extremely high-end brands but banning editors from the main magazines? It was one thing when Marc Jacobs 'banned' celebrities, but this seems like quite another.

Don’t worry, Carine; Team Grazia will catch you up on all the catwalk looks . . .
